This article presents an amazing story, which is particularly interesting for those who have never heard of Thieves Oil.

The Thieves Story

In the early 1990s, Gary Young explored essential oils and recreated a blend he had been studied.  According to him, there are 17 versions of the “Story of Thieves” , each of them containing different amounts of different oils and the story of the “Thieves” this blend is named after.

Merchants and spice traders, the “Thieves” lived in the 15th century and traded cinnamon and cloves. The shipping and trade stopped when the bubonic plague struck, and the traders looked for a way to support themselves.

The decided to steal the dead bodies and sell the found clothes, jewelry, boots and anything they could find. Being familiar with the properties of spices, vinegars, and oils, they decided to use this knowledge to prevent themselves from getting sick from the dead bodies.

The King soon found out and wanted to know their secret.  They shared it, and the rest is history!
